We are very pleased to announce that the 2017 ALRA Conference will be held in Portland, Oregon, July 22 – 25, 2017!

The ALRA Conference planning committee has been working diligently to put together a diverse and stimulating program. The agendas for this year's conference are now available.

Registration Fees

Registration fee for delegates is $500 until June 22, 2017
Registration will be $525 after June 22

Registration for advocates is $295, includes breakfast, lunch and a reception immediately following the conference

A block of rooms is available for the ALRA Conference at The Benson hotel in Portland, Oregon at the group rate of $204 per night. The group rate will be honored two days before and after the conference based upon availability. The cut off for the group rate is July 1, 2017, or until the block of rooms has been exhausted.

Travel Grants | 2017 ALRA Conference

The ALRA Executive Board has agreed again this year to provide first-time attendees the opportunity of obtaining an $800 (USD) grant to attend the 2017 Annual Conference in Portland, Oregon from July 22 – 25, 2017.

In order to qualify for the grant, you must meet all the following criteria:

  • You have never attended an ALRA Conference
  • You are a member or an employee of an ALRA member agency
  • You must submit a written request on or before June 15, 2017

You may make your request by writing to Mike Sellars, Vice-President Professional Development at Mike.sellars@perc.wa.gov. You must provide your name, mailing and email address, the name of your ALRA member-agency, and any information you feel would support your request.

Anyone making a request for a travel grant must also provide the name of a person at their agency that can be contacted to verify that they are authorized to attend the conference and that their agency is unable to underwrite the full cost of the conference.

The Grant of up to $800 (USD) will be payable upon submission of receipts following the Conference. Acceptable reimbursable expenses include the hotel cost and air transportation to and from Portland, Oregon. ALRA will not reimburse any other travel-related expenses.

There are a limited number of grants available and a decision on the recipients of the grants will be made on a first come first served basis. Please contact Mike Sellars, ALRA Vice-president for Professional Development, with any questions.
